So, as a fairweather Jazz fan, I was naturally watching their tough 0-2 start in the NBA finals this year against the Houston Rockets. Needless to say, I’m sad about the outcomes, but still hopeful for at least the first round of the series.
Now, that aside, I have to comment on the caliber of commercials that they run for the Jazz. This is a team that pays their players millions of dollars every year. They’re in the NBA finals. They’ve got a winning record. They’ve produced some great teams. Their commercials? Directed by Sophomores in High School. And not even the tech-savvy ones in the A/V club. These are the kids who had to are directing the commercials on work release from the local juvie.
They really look like they were filmed with a camcorder during a half time in the mid-season when the Jazz were off their hot streak and just looking for some time to kill. If people are pouring the money they do into these professional sports (especially when they have a good year) lets at least get them some respectable TV spots to match.
