Ever hear of Utah canyoneering? Yeah, me neither. In fact, I actually went canyoneering before I ever even heard of it. Canyoneering is defined as traveling through a canyon by whatever means necessary, which may include walking, swimming, climbing, rappelling, etc (via Wikipedia).
My fiancé and I traveled down to Zion National Park numerous times this summer. One of our favorite places in the area is the Narrows. We actually completed the overnight top to bottom 16 mile hike. It was cold, tiring, and I absolutely loved it!
Apparently the Narrows is one of the most popular canyoneering destinations in the world, with its unrivaled beauty and majestic, soaring slot canyons.
Sound fascinating? Check out Outdoor Utah for more information about canyoneering and Utah outdoor recreation.
