More Duping and Dishonesty

March 21st, 2008 · 2 Comments

Dan Wakefield (71 years old), a fellow Utahn, has been arrested for trying to dupe many families in Samoa to place their children in U.S. adoption centers. I am not sure if he promised them a better life in America or what, but he did promise them that their children would come back to them once they turned 18, which obviously wouldn’t be the case. They have estimated that there have been over 80 children that have been put into adoption through this scheming man, and six others. Sadly enough, Wakefield used to work for Focus On Children, an adoption center.

This is just so sad. This just gives adoption centers a bad name. Just remember, not every adoption center has had dark characters working for them. Most adoption centers are honest and provide an amazing service to children and parents throughout the world.

What’s with all the scammers in Utah? They seem to be all over…especially those ridiculous get rich quick and investment schemes.
