(Slowly) making its way through the state legislature is a new bill that would raise the speed limit on I-15. The limit would be raised to 80 mph from Nephi to Cedar City (the current speed limit is 75 mph).
Well it’s about freakin’ time. Don’t we all go that fast (or faster) anyways? There’s nothing but cows down there.

I do like the idea of them raising the speed limit. I also think they should raise the speed limit to 70 wherever it is 65. That would be nice!

The real question is at what speed police officers start writing tickets. I got a speeding ticket in American Fork (speed limit 65) for going 73. The speed of traffic is faster than that every day.

80 would be great. Personally I drive 83 from Nephi to St. George and have never gotten picked up. Having the speed limit at 80 would be great. Then we could go 85 at least…

Cars today are just so much safer, stable, and with better brakes, steering and suspension than 50 years ago…
…why keep the speed limits from 50 years ago?

I was in a zone that i thought was an 80 mph zone, so naturally i was going 85 (thats safe, right?), went over a hill, and going down it i just let the gas and brakes go, and ended up going right under 90 mph, got pulled over… cop said i was going 93, lowered it to 91 to look nice, but if he lowered it to 90, i wouldve saved $50 but looks like someone needed to meet the quota… sucks for me
