I know that this won’t thrill most people the way it does me, but for any fantasy reader this is HUGE. As you may be aware New York Times Bestseller fantasy writer Robert Jordan died in September while working on the 12th and final novel in his series The Wheel of Time.
What you may not know is who they’ve chosen to finish out the series that’s been in progress for over a decade. Last week they announced that Brandon Sanderson, a fantasy writer based in Provo, will be working with Robert Jordan’s editor to finish the final book.
You can read the press release here, or check out a fun interview with Sanderson here.
I’ve read all of Sanderson’s published novels (and some unpublished) and I have to say that they couldn’t have picked a better author to take on this responsibility. Take the time to check out his writing, it’s well worth the time.
